Paul Binnie, Scottish, b. 1967
Thousand Stitch Belt preparatory drawing
conté on paper drawing signed at lower left corner BINNIE, 2013
18 3/4 by 12 5/8 in., 47.7 by 32.1 cm
This drawing is very close to the final composition (and size) of the Thousand Stitch Belt woodblock print which shows Binnie's focus on the model's benevolent expression and her gesture of holding the needle in preparation of the next 'donated' sacred stitch.
