Uehara Konen, Boat in Rain

Uehara Konen, 1878-1940

Boat in Rain

signed in red rectangular seal, Konen, published by Kobayashi Bunshichi, circa pre-1923

3 3/8 by 9 7/8 in., 8.7 by 25.2 cm

The Muller copy of this print has the publisher's paulownia leaf seal and numbererd cartouche '267.' Many prints of this small format type produced in the 1910s by Kobayashi bear these number cartouches which are thought to be the publisher's system of numbering the designs which were issued.
