14 3/4 by 22 5/8 in., 37.5 by 57.5 cm

Before the war, Kakunen always signed and/or sealed his paintings in kanji with a red archaic-form artist's seal. This watercolor, bearing Kakunen's signature in both Japanese and English, captures his deliberate transition from traditional Japanese painter to American landscape painter.
