The Chrysanthemum Pattern and a Fortune Bag (Kiku moyo enmeibukuro) was a brief, fictional supplement to the Yamato Shinbun published in 1891. The story was originally told in a rakugo performance by the hanashika (storyteller) Tachibanaya Enkyo (1865-1912) before being recorded for and published in the paper.
