VALOR IN CHINA AND JAPAN

This chuban series, published in the fourth lunar month of 1868, illustrates legends from China and Japan. While ten compositions from the series have been identified, it is possible there are more. Individual titles are not provided on the prints, and as such, identification of subjects requires consideration of compositional elements.
