oban yoko-e 7/8 by 14 5/8 in., 25.1 by 37.2 cm

During the Kambun era (1661-1673) cherry saplings were transplanted from the famed Mt. Yoshino in the Yamato province to Gotenyama in Edo, thus providing the Edoko with their own locale for springtime cherry blossom viewing.
